EVE CLOTHING. WHAT IS IT? I LIKE THAT.

EVE clothing is the grown up fashion baby of Eva Scheyer. what has begun with a self-made oversized hoodie for her little sister three years before bloomed to a wide collection of beanies, headbands, t-shirts and  jewellery. partly colourful and playful and partly straight and cool EVE talks to open-minded hippies that are in love with boardsports and life. the skilled designer from the Allgäu sets great value upon quality and sustainability. and somebody who cares about nature as much as Eva does obviously cares about his garden. Eva, the girl who cut her own logo into her lawn (awesome!), answered some questions below.

I am…  Eva, head of EVE clothing
I like to wear…  oversize and cozy woolen beanies
I consider myself...  as an open-minded person who loves life and art
it all started with… my little sister Victoria
I am deeply in love with… the mountains, my australian wool boots,
coffee, kaiserschmarrn and going to the movies
I would never... wear a dirndl
my favorite piece is... a big white knitted cardigan
the most important thing is… being honest

EVE clothing welcomes to celebrate autumn and smile at your sister parties with you. become a homie on facebook and finish following sentence: I am deeply in love with ... and a fancy headband might be yours soon. (the entry deadline is december 1st) whoop!

FRONTLINESHOP FASHION SHOW SS13

2012-11-12

my sailor heart beat faster end of last week. I steered due north to take a glimpse at frontlineshop's ss13 fashion show in Hamburg.

first stop: my lovely bunk in the 25hours hotel.
this hotel is overwhelming in its details and hints of the ocean and the HafenCity.
I loved to walk its planks and I could downrightly smell the rough sea.

second stop: villa mignon / fashion show
I spent the whole fashion show smiling. it was because of the models who charmingly presented a lot of denim looks combined with bag packs and awesome caps and sneakers with floral prints. and ya, I'm kind of into tattoos.

third stop: the after party
check out blogs like the random noise or this is jane wayne for pictures of the cool kids. but hej, come back!

thanks to the ankers, the roped ladder and the scuttle my room comfortably pitched and tossed at the end of the night ... or probably I should blame the gin.
so eine seefahrt, die ist lustig.

MESHIT for BWG MAG

2012-11-10

meshit has a sensitiveness in finding right places for points of intersection. with their ss13 collection the girls are taking us back to the nineties. this is where grunge meets hip hop. checked flannel shirts vs. baseball caps and braids. in this case there are no losers but winners.

read more about meshit's previous collection on bwg mag.

MAGIC IS SOMETHING YOU MAKE

2012-11-06

even if you can't see it on this pictures gothenburg showed up with its most beautiful skies and sunsets last week. the houses around seemed to burn because of the golden light.

when we weren't at the sea or eating grilled fish with potatoes or fish with mashed potatoes or fish with fish or fish soup with tea and rum we sticked our heads together for the next issue of monki magazine. keep your eyes open so you don't miss it.

NIKY ROEHREKE – HANDS CANNOT LIE

2012-11-05

one morning I have found this postcard on my desk. it came its long way from new york and brightened up my oh so weary day. niky roehreke is a japanese / german mixed media illustrator who loves hands. and quite rightly many people love what her hands create. her bold and colourful illustrations can be found in many different magazines and most recently for the third season on selected items of insight's garage art collection.

whose hand would you like to shake one day?
as many people as possible and if there is a nice gallery owner and Patti Smith amongst them I'd be very happy.

what would you say is typical german and what's typical japanese about you?
I think japanese about me is that I'm am a workaholic, that I love and care about eating good food and that I sometimes worry too much about other people's opinion. german about me is that I'm a perfectionist, I am stubborn and don't care about other people's opinion and if I want to I have the ability to endlessly complain about something. so I am basically a workaholic perfectionist who cares but not cares about what other people think and endlessly complains while eating great japanese food. I sound like a horrible mix.

what's your favourite gallery in ny at the moment?
I've just been to Moma's exhibition 'century of the child: growing by design, 1900-2000' and I loved it. It was so great to see the designs and the historical background of the toys and board games I used to love playing with and I realized that the idea behind a lot of these toys were quite simple.
on the way back home it made me sad when I saw all these children on the train playing with iphones and ipads... entertainment for people in general has become so much more complicated.

do you have a favourite quote?
'the more you know who you are, and what you want,
the less you let things upset you'
(Bob Harris / lost in translation)
